FEBRUARY 23 - GOD HAS PROMISED TO SAVE YOUR LOVED ONES
- If you have a loved one who doesn't know Christ, today's devotional will be priceless to you. God has promised to save your family if you'll pray. Here are some of God's greatest promises:
Proverbs 11:21 says, "You can also be very sure that God will rescue the children of the godly" (TLB).
- When one father was burdened for his lost children, God gave him this unusual verse from Exodus 10:25-26a. It was Moses responding to Pharaoh, who didn't want to let the Hebrew people go. Moses said, "We must take our flocks and herds for sacrifices and burn offerings to Jehovah our God. NOT A HOOF SHALL BE LEFT BEHIND" (TLB, emphasis mine.) When the father claimed this verse for his children, they began to get saved.
- Isaiah 62:6-7 is another encouraging verse. "Ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, And GIVE HIM No REST, till he establish....Jerusalem a praise in the earth" (emphasis mine). This means that God says not to give Him any rest until He makes your lost loved one a praise in the earth. Wow! What a glorious word of encouragement.
- Once when I was going through a difficult time with one of our children, I was tempted to get bitter over the apparent failure of God to "get moving" on my behalf. I kept saying to God, "If Your child was in trouble, I'd help You out. Why aren't You helping me?" Then God led me to this beautiful verse in Psalm 18:25, "With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou silt shew thyself upright."
- This really encouraged me because then I realized that God would treat me the same as I treated His children. Because I try to deal with his lost children fairly-witnessing to them and encouraging them-I knew God would deal with my child in a fair and upright way. And in His time, He answered the prayer of our hearts.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, and your entire household" (Acts 16:31 TLB).
